These little creatures are all from Chambers’ Farm Woods, in Lincolnshire. My favourite place to be in summer, because of the wide variety of butterflies, dragonflies, insects etc. Today, we saw the first White Admiral and the first Black Hairstreak of the season. From the top: butterflies – large white, marbled white, mating marsh fritillaries, peacock, chalk hill blue, and a unique sighting – the scarce yellow-legged tortoiseshell; dragonflies – female broad-bodied chaser, male banded demoiselle.
